Guide & Cricut Tips

Adjustment Modes
Multiply (Scale): Multiplies each line's existing stroke width by the factor (e.g., 2× turns 1px into 2px, and 2px into 4px). Best for technical drawings with multiple line weights.
Add (+px): Adds a fixed number of pixels to every existing stroke width (e.g., +2px turns 1px into 3px).
Fixed Width: Sets every stroked path to the exact same specified width. Ideal for single pen plotting on a Cricut where all strokes must match the pen tip width (e.g. 0.4mm or 2px).
Line Cap & Join
Round: Curves the endpoints and corners smoothly. Cricut pen plotting standard — avoids jagged hooks at pen lift points.
Miter: Keeps sharp geometric corners, perfect for architectural drawings and angular logos.
Filled Shapes & Outlines
If your SVG has closed filled shapes (e.g., converted text or silhouettes with no stroke), checking Expand filled shapes applies an outer stroke matching the fill color using SVG paint-order: stroke fill. This thickens the shape outward without distorting internal details.
Preventing Edge Clipping (Canvas Padding)
When lines expand near the edges of an SVG's canvas, their outer stroke can exceed the original viewBox. Enabling canvas padding automatically extends the viewBox so no strokes are clipped.
